Concrete Buzz – The Up and Coming Concrete Social Network

March 18th, 2009 the Concrete Buzz a social network for the concrete industry, construction and real estate was launched.

The vision is to bring together manufacturers, distributors, contractors, artisans, architects, home owners, commercial property and public facility owners in an educational interactive community.

Social networks are effective when they are large and casual. A concrete social network is huge. Concrete is the most used man made product on earth. It affects every aspect of a property from the roof down.

An interesting example was a comment from a Metrocrete reader about remediating moisture in basements of commercial and residential properties. The story was how to properly fix cracks in concrete floors and walls then coat them with an epoxy waterproofer prohibiting moisture from entering. 

This reader mentioned that 70% of moisture in basements comes from faulty gutters an inexpensive solution. As a result there is a direct correlation between gutters and concrete basements. If you didn’t know this you might spend $25,000.00 on your basement moisture remediation only to find that the solution was repalcing gutters for $1,500.00.

This is the idea behind a concrete social network. Uniting many influences in a social platform to add value to real estate efficiently without wasting hard earned money.

As a real estae investor I have looked at thousands of properties that made no economic sense to purchase. However the solutions are there today to make these properties work economically. It comes down to knowedge and education.

So even though Concrete Buzz is about concrete it’s about everything real estate. What are the right products, how are they applied, how are they designed, who is the right contractor or builder?

The Concrete Buzz is a social network, a community to benefit the members and visitors.
