How To Repair a Concrete Garage Floor
- Minneapolis Garage Floor
Thousands of Minneapolis garage floor concrete surfaces have been built over basements. If you look at the top photo here you can see Spancrete being installed. A typical Spancrete panel is 24-3o inches wide, 6 inches thick and 24 feet long.
Each panel is butted up against the other. Then concrete is poured over the top during construction, usually about 4 inches thick. When the home settles or when a car is parked in the garage the concrete over the Spancrete cracks lengthwise. In the photo above you can see the cracks follow exactly where the Spancrete butts up against the other.
When water gets in your garage, it leaks into your basement through the cracks. The best solution is a system that fills the cracks, waterproofs your floor and coats with a non slip, polyaspartic polyurea decorative finish.
