Thanks to Ameican Acrylic and Concrete Moldz www.concretemoldz.com for sponsoring this page.

The recent review about using concrete molds to make concrete planters, artistic vessel sinks and bistro tables received huge interest with lots of questions.

The most asked question was where and how do you get concrete molds for specialty items. Specialty items being sinks, shower bases, tables and tile. Another popular question about custom molds was where do you go if you want to replicate a hot selling item and need a custom mold that can be used over and over.

I spoke with Kevin Wallace of American Acrylic who has the answer. Click here for the website www.concretemoldz.com . Kevin can be reached at 972-784-7759.

American Acrylic has been in the business of making molds for the marble industry for 40 years. They have plenty of styles in stock and will make custommolds on an as need basis.

Sample unfinished concrete sink from using concrete molds from www.concretemoldz.com.

This is an exciting time when artisans, contractors and manufacturers are growing together simultaneously. New ideas are flourishing. Manufacturers are responding quickly with new mixes. Specialty companies like www.concretecountertopsupply.com are supplying the tooling.

                                                              Concrete Molds from American Acrylic

Now American Acrylic is bringing concrete molds and new ideas from another market. Based on the feedback from the post about concrete planters, artistic vessel sinks and bistro tables it appears that concrete is poised for massive growth.

I have little doubt that large companies with big marketing budgets are going to be knocking on the doors of artisan fabricators and manufacturers looking for product that they can get into their showrooms.

It’s going to be popping up everywhere from kitchens and baths to outdoor planters, decorative garden pieces, outdoor kitchens. Concrete is going to be highly competitive to marble and other products.

I would like to mention the important use of liquid rubber used in the manufacturing of edges and sink knockouts. For those not familiar with liquid rubber it can be molded into unlimited shapes and an ideal companion to molds. www.smooth-on.com from Easton Pennsylvania is a source.
