Custom Stamped Concrete Designs

Here’s a great story about the beauty of concrete and how custom stamped concrete designs provided a solution to a problem.

Sawgrass TPC golf club in Ponte Vedra Florida holds a major golf tournament very year. As you can see in the photos Sawgrass has quite a lot of concrete pavers in the driveway area. There was an additional large area of existing concrete they wanted to match the existing pavers.

Craig Heidinger of Concrete Options ( 904-571-7859 ) instigated the solution. Sawgrass TPC had an issue with the existing concrete. It would have been a major construction project to remove the existing concrete and replace with new pavers. Additionally they needed a solution that would be able to stand up to significant traffic.

The area of issue gets not only a ton of foot traffic but golf carts, lawn maintenance equipment, trucks, film crews and equipment. They needed a durable solution that was thin enough to come up to the height of existing pavers with a matching design.

Craig from Concrete Options brought in SureCrete Design a manufacturer of a stampable concrete overlay mix with a full line of colors and sealers. SureCrete carries concrete stamps with a full line of stamped concrete designs. The paver pattern is one that would require custom stamps. Another critical issue was time. The project needed to be started in 4 weeks.

Now the issue was where to get custom stamps in short order. SureCrete tried a few of the larger stamp manufacturers who were busy getting ready for the World of Concrete convention held every year in Vegas.

They went to Art Stamped Concrete a boutique stamp manufacturer run by Julie Ellis in Wyoming. Julie is an artist who started manufacturing custom stamps for the concrete industry. If you look to the right you will see Julies’ banner, Art Samped Concrete. Julie as a small shop had the capability to turn the job around quick plus a lot of experience creating custom stamped concrete designs.

The photographs show the result. It was a team effort between Craig Heinger owner of Concrete Options, SureCrete Designs and Art Stamped Concrete to come up with the solution. SureCretes stamped overlay system provided the solution to height (3/8ths inch thick), durablity and decorative concrete colors, color hardners and sealers, Art Stamped Concrete the solution to stamped concrete designs and Concrete Options the expertise and experience to install the system. The project was 12,000 square feet which is not a small project.

The versatility of concrete is the reason why the industry is flourishing even in a soft economy.

Custom Stamped Concrete Designs

Julie’s stamped concrete designs business Art Stamped Concrete makes artistic concrete stamps. The typical concrete stamp is a pattern of various stone and brick patterns. Julie makes stamps that are accents. They personalize a concrete stamped concrete project.

The stamps have about 1/8th to 1/4 inch thickness which enable not just freshly poured concrete to be stamped but also concrete overlays and self leveling concrete that are frequently about 3/8ths of an inch thick.

Julie’s business keeps numerous stamps in stock but also will make custom stamps. Custom stamps create one of a kind stamped concrete designs like business names, company logos or anything that a client desires.
