The Simpsons Ride, Universal Studios

CW Driver, builders based in California retained Surfacing Solutions based in Temecula California to apply a decorative knockdown overlay spray texture around the The Simpson Ride at Universal Studios.

The challenge was to apply 25,000 square feet of spray texture then color and seal it while the Universal Studios park was open. To intensify the challenge the project needed to be complete in five days and be usuable by the weekend.

Shawn Halverson of Surfacing Solutions worked with their suppliers Floric Polytech of Arizona to develop an installation strategy that would meet the demands of excessive foot traffic, weather, time and appearance.

The Surfacing Solutions crew was split into 2 shifts of 16 hours each for 5 days to complete the project ahead of schedule.

According to project manager Keith Cantillon of Surfacing Solutions the project went smoothly. The crews stayed at local hotels enabling them to be well rested and readily available.

Sam Huelis of CW Driver Builders said working with Surfacing Solutions was great. “They were attentive to Universal Studios and our needs and concerns, we were pleased with the result.” The Simsons Ride was ready for the weekend as planned.
